Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida: An Unexpected Trip (English)

I recently moved to my friend’s place in Jimbaran, it was just a normal night in my friend’s place, when suddenly her cousins came for a visit.

My friend’s cousin is (let’s call him Wen) a guide specialized in Chinese Language and based in Bali for quite a while

Just a normal visit, talking about stuff, and an invitation for a supper nearby.

Wen told us about his group of tourist going to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida for a one-day tour, and suddenly he said “you guys should come with me, it will be fun”

I thought, wow this is not something to reject for me with the position I’m on, nothing to do and looking for an adventure.

We then decided to join the trip and then the adventures begin.

Wen decided that we should be staying over at his house that night because the fery terminal is nearby his house, and right after he said that, we were asked to pack our stuff, went for our supper, and went right away to his place for a night.

The next day, we woke up at 8 am and the bus take off at 9 am to brought us to the fery terminal.

Remember, Wen is a guide, he was in charge to assist 42 Chinese tourists for a trip in those 2 islands, so we will need to take care of ourself as he was busy with his guests.

We took a speed-boat for around 30 minutes to Nusa Lembongan, a smaller island located on the south-east of Bali Island.

Nusa Lembongan is much more tourist friendly with all the facilities and hotels provided there, while for Nusa Penida it’s all about it’s nature and mind-blowing landscapes, with less hotels and less developed tourism places, and I still prefer Nusa Penida as a tourism site.

Upon arrival, we were then transferred to truck, which has been modified with seats at the back to accommodate a group of 10 people, and went to Blue Lagoon with around 10 minutes drive.

People who are interested can do cliff jumping at Blue Lagoon with around 14 metres high, and of course the jumping site is already decided by the authorities from Nusa Lembongan itself.

After probably half and hour taking pictures and enjoying the scenery, we went back to the speedboat, and take a 20 minutes ride to Nusa Penida, a bigger island located on the south-east of Nusa Lembongan.

We were transferred to a resort called Caspla Beach Hotel, where we spent the rest of the day snorkeling and doing some other fun water sports.

My friend, Yani, whom recently moved to Jimbaran.

Pro tip: We came to this resort because this is a part of the package from the tour. There are lots of amazing places and sceneries in Nusa Penida, you can read it from my pervious post by clicking here!

The snorkeling area is okay, the water is crystal clear and there are tons of fishes in the water. The only problem was probably overcrowding, because there were lots of groups coming to the area.

Around 4pm we went back to the speedboat for a ride back to Sanur, Bali, this marked as the end of the trip.

An unexpected trip with lots of fun!
